Day 70 – Seared Ahi

Posted in concepts, Things by Dave on March 11, 2010

Here it is, my single favorite dinner. Seared Ahi with furikake. Add some cucumbers and wasabi and you’ve got a little slice of heaven.  I would prefer to have a good meal at home rather than going out to eat anytime. Thanks Liz.

By shooting every day for this project, shots like these have become quick and easy for me. As dinner was served, I just grabbed it and ran out to the garage and had it lit how I wanted very quickly.

40D | 1/250s | f2.8 | ISO 100 | 100mm

how it was shot –

I have a big soft diffused light from camera right. (64″ PLM) To fill in the shadows, I added a white poster board camera left.

Beautiful shot, it’s funny because I have been thinking I wanted to start doing some food photography. Thanks for the lighting tips.

Beautifully shot! This could be right out of Bon Appetit magazine. I freakin’ love that stuff. Where’s the wontons?
