Day 83 – Bahamas, here we come.

Posted in concepts, Things by Dave on March 24, 2010

The whole family is going to the Bahamas over Easter break. We leave in 9 days and it can’t come soon enough. Bought some masks, snorkels and fins to bring with us.

40D | 1/250s | f16 | ISO 100 | 67mm

flash camera right and camera left each at 1/4 power.

How it was shot – there is one flash to the left and right of the aquarium. Both are set to 1/4 power and zoomed to 105mm. I preset the focus and just tried to time the drop of the mask to firing the camera. I took about 30 shots and kept missing the timing. I never got one I liked but decided I had already spent enough time on it so here is my favorite of the bunch. Don’t laugh at my messy garage.

I think this is a great shot! I need to figure out how to use my flash remotely. Have any tips?

I’m sure your family is excited about the upcoming vacation.
