Day 149 – Haleakala Volcano

Posted in Landscapes, Places by Dave on May 29, 2010

This is the view from 10,000 feet above sea level at the top of the Haleakala Volcano.

The clouds you see are sitting at about 6,000 feet. I heard that this is the steepest road in the US. You go from sea level to 10,000 feet in about 20 miles.

It is really breathtaking to be so high at the rim of a volcano. Otherworldly.
