Day 222: B-17 Bomber

Posted in Uncategorized by Dave on August 15, 2010

On my way home from work I stopped by the “Planes of Fame Air Museum” in Chino, California. Unfortunately, they were closed but I still managed a few shots over the fence.

This shot is of the famed B-17 bomber used extensively in WWII. This B-17 is one of a total of 200 B-17’s built that dropped more bombs in WWII than any other aircraft.  During WWII, the B-17’s dropped more than 640,000 metric tons of bombs on Germany.  So there’s your history lesson for the day.
