Look what I found in the fridge today! It sure made my picture of the day an easy choice. I can’t believe there are only two days left.
There’s not much better than fresh pears.
How it was shot:
1/250s | f8 | ISO 100 | 88mm | flash set at 1/2 power in softbox
Originally, I tried to emulate window light. But I didn’t like the surroundings so chose to black it out by increasing the shutter speed to max. There is a flash in a softbox to camera right and about 1 foot away from the pears. Because the light source is so close to the pears, it creates a relatively quick dramatic falloff for shadows.
I had a nice salad tonight with our home-grown tomato’s. See them on the vine in Day 197.
How it was shot – this is my “go-to” set up when I have no ideas.
There is a flash through a softbox to the camera left. A second flash is aimed at a white poster board behind the tomatoes and that provides back light. Quick and easy for those lazy days.
I almost missed my 365 shot tonight. I didn’t have my camera with me today and didn’t get home until 11:30pm. With no ideas at all, I went to the fridge. Luckily, Liz had just bought fresh raspberries. I took them out to the garage where I have my flash always set up. Fired off a few and went to bed. Barely made it. I’m happy with the results given the circumstances though. I love the macro lens for days like this!
